About Me
Hi! It's good to meet you.
I'm Marie Brodsky and I am a Math major at the University of Maryland, College Park, there on a full Banneker/Key Scholarship. I recently graduated from the Math, Science, and Computer Science Magnet Program at Montgomery Blair HS in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Apart from being a math enthusiast myself, I have enjoyed teaching and organizing local math circles in the community. Now in my 8th year of teaching, I have compiled a large collection of resources and developed lesson plans for kids of ages ranging from 5 to 14.
I recently gave a talk about the future of education at a local Pecha Kucha event, and have been a volunteer at the Kid Museum for many years. Previously, I presented on a panel of the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI) during the Math Circles on the Road conference.
I worked in a contract with the American Mathematical Society in 2015, serving as the translator for the book Geometry in Problems by Alexander Shen. Currently, I am working on writing a book titled On Wolves and Other Birds: Introducing Mathematics to a Young Audience, intended to serve as a guide for parents and educators looking for a resource for inspiring kids' love for challenging problems in math.
